Subject: Psychological modeling Date: Sun, 17 Aug 2008 09:34:29 +0100 From: Robin Faichney Reply-To: robin@robinfaichney.org Newsgroups: sci.psychology.misc When I studied psychology, back in the seventies, "modeling" was what people copying other people's behaviour was called. Now, I learn, there's something called "cognitive modeling", which is constructing theoretical models of cognitive functions. Fair enough, but the sort of modeling I'm interested in is something else: the models that every person has in their mind, of their environment, and especially of other people. I would guess models of other people develop out of modeling behaviour, with "internalisation". But surely there's some psychology literature on this? Any pointers?
